HOW I WORK
I am trained in combined-integrated psychotherapy, which means that I use a variety of approaches drawn from clinical and counseling psychology. This flexibility allows me to personalize the therapy experience to meet each child's individual needs. Methods I most often use are behavioral and cognitive techniques, play therapy, and humanistic approaches.
My work is also guided by my background in developmental psychology. I believe that a strong caregiver-child relationship serves as a foundation for positive growth. Having an understanding of how your child’s development relates to their challenges can benefit this relationship. I strive to help parents gain the skills and knowledge they need to confidently support their child.
AS A THERAPIST, MY GOALS ARE TO:
-
Promote children's understanding and awareness of their own emotions
-
Foster children's skills for managing their behavioral and emotional challenges
-
Provide caregivers with support, guidance, and training in strategies to help them overcome parenting challenges
